A wide range of events throughout the year

The people of Skagafjörður organise numerous sporting occasions along with arts and cultural events, dispersed throughout the year. Many of these events stem from long traditions and draw huge crowds, such as the Laufskálarétt horse roundup or Sæluvika, the Happy Week.

In addition to offering special deals connected to many of these events, Hotel Varmahlíð has in recent years developed some of its own events, such as Lambing Weekend and the Horse Feast.
